Associate Professor Reza Masoumi Department of Animal Science Division of Animal Physiology Faculty of Agriculture University of Zanjan After completing my bachelor's degree in animal science from Zanjan University, I was accepted into the master's degree program in animal physiology at the University of Tehran. I completed my master's thesis under the supervision of Dr. Armin Tohidi on hormonal strategies to enhance the reproductive characteristics of male Holstein cows at the "Iranian Dairy Cow Progeny Testing Center". Following the completion of my master's degree, I was admitted to the PhD program in animal physiology at the University of Tehran, ranking first in acceptance. My doctoral thesis focused on the "Development and improvement of new methods for synchronizing ovulation in Holstein dairy cows" under the supervision of Professor Ahmad Zare Shahneh, Dr. Arya Badiei, and the Dr. Hamid Kohram. After being rewarded a doctoral scholarship from the Ministry of Science and Research, I undertook an occupational traineeship at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Queensland, Australia, under Professor Michael McGawan. Upon completing my doctoral program, I began working as a faculty member at the Department of Animal Science in the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zanjan. In 2014, I joined the Reproduction Group at the University of Sydney working under Dr. Tamara Leahy to gain expertise in advanced reproductive technologies in sheep mainly in ram semen cryopreservation. In 2017, I went to Monash University to learn in vitro embryo production technologies under the supervision of Dr. Sally Catt, and during the same year, I participated in a project titled "Genetic diversity in the immune response of Merino sheep to helminthes parasites and their role in preventing parasitic infections" under the supervision of Professor Michael Steer at La Trobe University. Upon my return from Monash University, I co-founded "In vitro embryo production laboratory" at University of Zanjan". In 2019, I did my sabbatical leave at the University of Melbourne under Dr. Mark Green. My research activities have been focused on improving and developing technologies such as ram semen cryopreservation, estrus and ovulation synchronization protocols in cattle and sheep, artificial insemination, as well as embryo production and transfer.
